OUTREACH THROUGH INTERFAITH

Our church is committed to reaching out to those who need help in our community. Our largest project is our participation in the Wilmington Interfaith Hospitality Network (WIHN). During four different weeks of the year, rotating with other churches in Wilmington, we are able to provide food and shelter in our own church building, mainly for single mothers with children. For these families who are struggling to keep functioning despite loss of a place to live, loss of a job or a temporary loss of financial means, our church is able to help them get their “feet back on the ground” by serving dinners and providing overnight accommodations while supporting them through an atmosphere of acceptance, understanding, and friendliness.

Young and old alike from our congregation volunteer their time and talents for these weeks of sharing our church, and”Interfaith” has become an important way for all of us to practice stewardship.
